Neuro Linguistic Programming
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), includes three aspects of human experience: neurology, language and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we communicate with others, and our programming determines how we perceive and relate to our experience. NLP describes the dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behavior (programming).
The founders of NLP, Bandler and Grinder, studied famous therapists and communicators (Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir, and Milton Erickson) in the 1970’s and derived the patterns of language and behavior they used to profoundly impact others. Now these techniques are easily taught to others who can use them in psychology, business and sales.
NLP addresses how we store information, rather than addressing the actual content of it. For example, an intense memory can be made less intense; or, an experience associated with a person can be ‘unraveled’ so that the experience is neutral.
NLP has evolved into literally dozens of simple, fun and easy techniques that help to change how you perceive, think about, and interact with the world around you. It can be used for any problem or issue.
