Conscious Oneness

When my life gets really busy and hectic, I find that I can sometimes forget that there is only Oneness…that we live, and move, and have our being, in vast universes of love, peace, joy, health, prosperity and wisdom. Of course, it’s easy when life is unfolding smoothly, and circumstances turn out the way we think they should. But the challenge is to hold that awareness when I feel I am bumping into barriers to my goals.
I can remember that supposed barriers are just a Message that there is a better outcome for me. The more significant remembrance is that I am one with All that Is.
I often hear people say they want to connect with God or Spirit or their Source. The truth is, we can’t be disconnected! Even when we feel far from it, we are connected. If there is only Oneness, including peace and love and joy, then we are made up of It. And Its Mind is available to us at any time we choose to tune in. A Course in Miracles says, “God is the Mind with which I think.” So, like a computer program, it is in existence, accessible, and operating…just waiting for you to use it!
I find a lot of comfort and peace in knowing that, even when I get busy or distracted, that quiet, peaceful place is waiting for me. It’s the substance I am made of. It’s the connection between another person and myself. So, any circumstance, any moment, or any person, are holy ground, or are an opportunity to sense that connection and perfection.
And how do we consciously get there? There are many paths. What each of them have in common is quieting the mind, because the mind is filled with distractions. Instead, the heart is where we carry the imprint of the love and wisdom that we are. In Love without End, it says: “In the depths of your being is your own sacred center. It is the still, quiet chamber wherein you are one with God. Your own power is held in place through this connection. Therefore, you cannot underestimate the value that conscious participation may bring.”
So, we can prevent tense and crazy moments by setting aside time for conscious awareness. We can structure our time to move more slowly and maintain that conscious awareness. And, when everything gets crazy, we can take time out to re-establish that conscious awareness…and remember Who and What we’re made of!
As we’ve discussed before, it is in this state of conscious awareness, that we create positive circumstances in our lives, by holding an intention or a vision. So, let’s use the gifts and tools available with gratitude—not only to create joy in our own lives, but in creating more peace and joy on the planet.
